Terms of Use
Please read these notices carefully before using this website or contacting Bass PLLC. They govern your use of jakebasslaw.com and explain the limits of what this site is and is not. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
Using This Website Does Not Create an Attorney-Client Relationship
Visiting this website, reading its contents, filling out a contact form, sending an email to an address listed here, or calling a number listed here does not make Jacob Bass your lawyer. An attorney-client relationship with Bass PLLC is formed only when the firm and the client have both signed a written engagement agreement that identifies the specific matter the firm has agreed to handle. Until that document exists and is signed by both sides, Bass PLLC is not representing you, is not advising you, and is not monitoring deadlines, court dates, or filing requirements on your behalf. Statements made during an initial call or consultation do not change that. If you are unsure whether the firm represents you, assume it does not and ask.
Information You Send Through This Site Is Not Confidential or Privileged
The attorney-client privilege protects certain communications between a lawyer and a client. Because your use of this website does not make you a client, information you send through a contact form, by email, or through any other channel on this site is generally not privileged and should not be treated as confidential.Bass PLLC cannot promise to keep unsolicited information secret, cannot promise that it will not be read by someone other than the intended recipient, and cannot promise that it will be protected from disclosure if a court later orders it produced. Internet and email transmissions are also not secure, and messages can be intercepted, misdirected, or stored on servers outside the firm’s control.
For that reason, please limit your first message to a brief, general description of the type of problem you have and how to reach you. Do not send documents, settlement figures, medical or personnel records, trade secrets, admissions, or anything else you would not want an opposing party to see. Wait until a conflicts check has been completed and a signed engagement agreement is in place, and then send sensitive material through a channel the firm identifies as appropriate.
Unsolicited Information Will Not Disqualify Bass PLLC From an Adverse Representation
Bass PLLC may already represent, or may later be asked to represent, a person or entity whose interests are adverse to yours. Before agreeing to represent anyone, the firm runs a conflicts check. Sending unsolicited information to Bass PLLC does not create a conflict of interest, does not obligate the firm to decline other work, and will not by itself prevent the firm from representing another party in a matter adverse to you, including the matter you wrote about. By sending information through this site, you acknowledge and agree to that.
Nothing on This Website Is Legal Advice
The content on this site — including practice-area pages, articles, case discussions, statutory summaries, and answers to common questions — is general information published for educational purposes. It is not legal advice, it is not a substitute for advice from a lawyer who knows the facts of your situation, and it should not be relied on in making any decision. The law changes, courts disagree, and outcomes turn on details that a general discussion cannot capture. Material on this site may also become outdated, and Bass PLLC has no obligation to update it. You should not act on anything you read here, or refrain from acting, without consulting a licensed attorney in the relevant jurisdiction.
This matters more than most disclaimers do, because legal claims expire. Statutes of limitation, administrative charge-filing deadlines, contractual notice provisions, and court-ordered schedules can permanently bar a claim that would otherwise have merit, sometimes within a matter of months. If you think you may have a claim or have been served with something, speak with a lawyer promptly rather than relying on what you read here.
This Website Is Attorney Advertising
This website may be considered attorney advertising or a communication concerning legal services under the rules of professional conduct of one or more jurisdictions in which Bass PLLC is admitted to practice law. It is intended to provide general information about the firm and the areas in which it practices. Jake Bass is the attorney responsible for the content of this website. The firm’s principal office is located in Denver, Colorado.
Where Bass PLLC Is Licensed to Practice
Jake Bass is admitted to practice law in Colorado, New York, the District of Columbia, New Mexico, and Wyoming, and before certain federal courts and agencies. Nothing on this site is an offer to represent anyone, or a claim of expertise or certification, in a jurisdiction where the firm is not licensed. Bass PLLC does not seek to represent anyone in any jurisdiction where this site would not comply with that jurisdiction’s laws and ethical rules. Where a matter requires local counsel, admission pro hac vice, or referral to a lawyer licensed elsewhere, the firm will say so.
Bass PLLC does not have an attorney registered to practice patent matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). For that reason, the firm does not prosecute patents (i.e., the firm does not assist clients with filing patents), nor does the firm participate in other activities for which registration before the USPTO is required (such as inter partes review). To the extent you are looking to secure patent protection, the firm is happy to make a referral to a qualified attorney or patent agent. The firm is capable of handling patent litigation in federal district court, as well as patent transactional matters (such as licensing), which do not require registration before the USPTO.
No Guarantee of Results
Every case is different, and the outcome of any legal matter depends on facts, evidence, forum, opposing parties, and circumstances outside any lawyer’s control. Descriptions of prior matters, results, recognitions, or client comments appearing on this site are not a promise, guarantee, or prediction about the outcome of your matter, and prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Any testimonial or endorsement that appears here reflects that person’s experience in their own matter and is not necessarily representative of what other clients will experience.

This site may link to statutes, court opinions, agency guidance, news coverage, or other websites operated by third parties. Those links are provided for convenience. Bass PLLC does not control, endorse, or take responsibility for the content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices of any third-party site, and a link is not a recommendation of any product, service, or organization.
